This News & Views Special Edition: JOBS, contains a comprehensive listing of available jobs throughout the region. This list consists of 115 organizations with a total of well over 13,000 jobs that need to be filled.

Summer Youth Employment Program

The application period is open for the Learn & Earn Summer Youth Employment Program. Applications will be accepted through this Friday, May 4.

Learn & Earn is a six-week summer job program in high-demand sectors for teens and young adults ages 14-21 in the Pittsburgh region. Participants can earn money, gain valuable work experience, and develop soft skills to help them become college and career ready.

Young people who are selected will work from June 25 – August 3 with orientation beginning the week of June 18. The application is open to Allegheny County residents who will be at least 14 years of age, and no older than 21 years of age, as of June 18, and who meet program income requirements.

Learn & Earn is made possible through a partnership between Allegheny County, the City of Pittsburgh and Partner4Work, with support from local foundations. For an application and to learn more about the program, please visit www.jobs4summer.org.

Job & Resource Fair for Veterans

Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania, in partnership with Veterans Place and VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, is hosting a job and resource fair on Wednesday, May 9 from noon – 3 p.m. It is being held at the Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania Workforce Development Center, located at 118 52nd Street in Lawrenceville.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with employers, attend career workshops, participate in mock interviews and connect with community service providers. All are welcome to attend the pre-workshop, which begins at 11:30 a.m., where individuals can learn how to network with employers and talk about their skills. Some employers will be interviewing at the job fair so dress to impress and bring a resume. Free parking is available.
