Harrisburg, September 17, 2007- State Sen. Wayne D. FOntana today joined Sen. Tartaglione and other colleagues as a co-sponsor of a Senate Resolution declaring “National Hispanic Heritage Month” in Pennsylvania.  “Hispanic Americans are well known for their hard work ethic, devotion to family and varied contributions to our nation’s history,” Fontana said. “Hispanic Americans have fought in every war since our founding and deserve mention as part of the Pittsburgh region’s proud ethnic melting pot.”

The state Senate unanimously adopted the resolution.

Hispanic Heritage Month runs from Sept. 15 through October 15, and will include events across Pennsylvania and the nation. The state designation aligns with “National Hispanic Heritage Month” declared by Congress.
