FontanaFest is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.  More specifically, it is intended to support an annual community event that highlights Pittsburgh’s rivers and the activities that can be done on and near its waters.  Its exemption was effective June 26, 2007.
