Allegheny County – December 15, 2023 – Today, State Senator Wayne Fontana announced grants totaling $134,835 to three museums in the 42nd Senatorial District.

“Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities are blessed with world-class museums that captivate and entertain people of all ages,” said Sen. Fontana. “These state grants will help to maintain the amazing work of these facilities.”

The Cultural and Historical Support Grants were awarded by the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission. The goal of the grant program is to support the general operations of eligible museums and official county historical societies that are not supported by other state agency funding programs.

Funding recipients in Sen. Fontana’s district include:

  • The Carnegie Science Center – $44,945
  • The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh – $44,945
  • The Senator John Heinz History Center – $44,945
